VANCOUVER - CRYSTALLEX INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (AMEX: KRY; Toronto) today issued the following statement:
"Despite Placer Dome's release of a revisionist and one-sided 'chronology' of the Las Cristinas situation, it is evident they have nothing new to add to this story. Crystallex continues to look forward to the full review of the Las Cristinas situation by the Political Administrative Chamber of Venezuela's Supreme Court. As has been previously noted, our complete legal action with all individual motions and appellate issues has been accepted for consideration by the Chamber. We are confident that this Chamber, which on three previous occasions has supported the positions of our subsidiary, Inversora Mael, will give this matter similar careful attention."
The Company further noted that its commitment to Venezuela and to the speedy development of the country's mining sector was evidenced by the appointment earlier in the week of Oswaldo Ruiz, former General Director of Mines and Geology for Venezuela's Ministry of Energy and Mines, as President of Crystallex de Venezuela.
Crystallex International Corporation is a gold mining and exploration company. The Company's strategy for growth is to develop its portfolio of properties in South America as well as to diversify geographically by investing in producing or near-production projects and by exploring properties of merit in other areas of the world.
On Behalf of the Board,
