VANCOUVER - CRYSTALLEX INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (T.S.E. symbol: KRY) is pleased to announce that initial drilling at the Albino property in Km 88, Venezuela increased the size of the mineralized panel within the La Conductora - Aguao 2 shear zone, and led to the discovery of a new mineralized zone.
''We are very pleased to see the drilling confirm a larger mineralized target in this already producing shear zone,'' said Mr. Marc J. Oppenheimer, President and CEO of Crystallex. ''It is also encouraging that we continue to hit significant gold values as we step out from the main zone at Albino,'' Mr. Oppenheimer continued.
Crystallex reported that thirteen diamond drill holes were completed during February and March for a combined total of 2630 metres, with mineralization encountered in all holes. The primary focus of this drilling phase was to further test mineralization at depth along the previously identified La Conductora - Aguao 2 shear zone. Near surface intercepts in holes 97-07 and 97-10 indicated the presence of a previously unidentified shear structure which may run parallel to the La Conductora - Aguao 2 shear system. These holes assayed 5.74 g/t Au over 4.82 metres and 12.87 g/t Au over 3.80 metres respectively. In addition, scout drilling southwest of one of the property's lagoons identified the mineralized system in another hole (97-13) located 150 metres southwest of the La Conductora - Aguao 2 shear.
Drill intersections are tabulated below:
