VANCOUVER - CRYSTALLEX INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (AMEX: KRY; Toronto) is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Directors of Mr. Harry J. Near, bringing the number of Directors to seven.

Mr. Near is a principal of The Earnscliffe Strategy Group, a government and public affairs consulting company located in Ottawa, Canada. Drawing on expertise and insights from his past service as both a Chief of Staff and a Senior Policy Advisor with the Canadian Ministry of Energy, Mines & Resources, Mr. Near advises private sector companies regarding government policies, regulatory matters and other issues.
